Engineering is something which doesnt interest me..i chose this cuz i
want money and more money :p pure science wont give me that...im in
the first year..am that kinda person to whom the kinda syllabus dosent
appeal much...i would rather prefer sittin back with a copy of
Morrison and boyd or glass stone and enjoy the simple truth of science
behind it than sutudy how to purify water in a "boiler" or sit in a
lecture of an overexploited topic of evs...( its been coming behind me
right from my 3rd grade)
this is how MONK felt when he came to SASTRA!

BUT however ( there will be loads of buts in my story!!) ...

im some one who keeps bunking loadsa classes ( i have a bad habit of
talking abbbt myself) and spend my time in TIFAC...my place of
worship..where i get connected to the entire world!! check out
journals..learn japanese!

BUT for the past 3 weeks all the systems in TIFAC had been having
DAKSH site as the homepage...
for an ignorant fool like me, this showed me the way to light from the
world of darkness :d
The path toward technical enlightenment...unlike OSHOs inner journey
for self realisation , a sun microsystem monitor helped me realise
what true engineering was :p ...or else i would have realised it in
the holy chamber of bla bla...[ k let me not get too blaaa...]

so this pure science MONK got into the world of enginnering!! [ pl dnt
mind my mokkais]
hes been soo much fascinated abt it so that hes currently doing things
in a very sophisticated way..

for the first years DAKSH is like a double dhamaka!! for the geeks its
a piece of chocolated coated pudding...for the layman its an
unexplainable phenomenon ( just like life)...for the lonely romeos its
time to go back home! :d
BUT ( sry i cant help stop using buts) for ignorant mongooses like me
[ am also very modest] [ like i said i have a bad habit of talking abt
how iam] DAKSH is the place to learn!!
not kiddin...ive registered for nasdaksh.. n after that nly i really
cmae to know abt the stock market, commodities n how to analyze the
market..i bunk my physics n math lecture to enjoy my secret affair
with sharekhan and indiainfoline!!!
thanks to DAKSH im not a layman in tht field...now ive signed up for
many virtual sharemarket trading portals ol...though my business is
going at loss im a bad investor who is currently learning...
many other friends of mine have also realised many fun n exciting n
techie things tht have been sugarcoated n served in the form of super
cool events in DAKSH!
i got to know many seniors cuz of daksh! they were n are awesome
ppl...very friendly...

now lemme talk abt this getting dakshified thing...theyve created a
new word...it has more meaning...it is rooted in their experience..you
will not find it in the encycleopedia britannica,but what they are
saying is not based on knowledge ,but experience.
DAKSH simply is.it is not a question-answer thing,it is not a
puzzle.it is something to be experienced,lived,louwed.you can sing
it,dance it.but it is not a question.its a quest , an adventure,an
ecstatic adventure , an exploration . and when you enter into the
mysterious without any curiosity, all the secrets of enginnering , of
existence, of creation , of life are available to you!! [ wow! i cant
get more PHILOesh! ]

News! Dusty news! DAKSH N DUSTS collaborate!! Have you heard of
Techdust?? Its the Official Blogging Partner of Daksh.

SASTRA alumni Mayank Agarwal & Krishna Santani started this blog a few
months back to promote latest technology and updates. The website has
an official page for Daksh. Its a dynamic page which keeps updating
followers about the latest turns in the techfest.

You know one thing about SASTRA and Daksh is that, we always keep our
hands joined with our alumni. Together we always work for the cause of
technical enlightening of minds.

Today I am a student in the third year of engineering, and Daksh has

I’m back…( Like our ULTIMATE STAR AJITH says ) . After a short hiatus though. Just when I was wondering what my next blog should be on …. KT ( Krishna Teja ) brings me MUSIC … I wanna put my signature to every single blog I write … So the usual reference to past swinging back to present … Parallel narration and so on .. is all there J

HEROES of ’08:

As usual” the my point of view ” thingy is also there. Though I can’t give an exhaustive account cos of my ignorance …( must be quite a relief to a lot of people) . Getting bang into the point . It was DAKSH ’08 orientation. Was one among the umpteen first year who flooded the JVC auditorium and brought the roof down . What machi , why machi, entraaa , ye DAKSH kya re bhai ?? was echoing through . The orientation begins . Stunning energy levels . Then comes our first hero “ MAYANK AGARWAL “ ,looks like a very calm guy to me … Then comes our second hero ( the scene stealer ) Prasoon Joshi ( PJ as they fondly call him ) !! . There were many people that day on stage who made an impression in my mind ( Lets not go too much into depth cos KT will kill me for beating around the bush ) . Lets fast forward a bit ..!!

Feb 25 th morning 11:00 am

I come outta hostel after my breakfast, coffee, newspaper session . It took me a few moments to register what was happening . The whole college in a partying mode !! ( DAY-TIME PARTYING ) . participants running around , Brisk announcements from the PR desk . I said one thing to myself .. “ One day I ll be one among the heroes“(which I partially succeeded ) . There ends the not so cinematic story of our heroes .

DAKSH ’10 GETS DUSTIFIED :

So getting back to what KT said . DAKSH gets a blogging partner ..!! Whoa that’s gr8 … ok .. but ( why all the hype) . “TechDusts” is the official blogging partner ..!! Whose contact anna ..?? was the first thing I asked . Now comes the twist in the story ..:) MAYANK AGARWAL ( hero No:1 ) and his sidekicks are TECH DUSTians .!!! The heroes of yesteryears  are back ..!! back with a bang is an understatement . It is feeling of nostalgia that engulfs me ..!! Associating with people whom I really wanted to be like .. Men behind the success of DAKSH 08 !!… It gives me so much pleasure to blog about this ..( ok ok .. not the formal tone again ) . This is the story of how DAKSH got DUSTIFIED ..!!!

It has been a pretty long time … Not really long but long enough for me to come up with another oneJ.

So here I am with my exploits during the publicity trip. Before going to the blog I want you to know about people called “Men In Black(MIB)” (self Proclaimed Title). Who are these self proclaimed “Men In Black” ?? Well it obviously has to be us … The faithful lads of Media Publicity , DAKSH .

Whoa!!! tired of riddles …?? The awesome duo are none other VAMSI ( No nickname conferred yet) and  SWAP(scarface!! What a nickname ..?? Swap apparently thinks it makes him more MACHO!! ). Well what did the men in black do ..?? ( P.S – if you wanna know how awesome we are pl do ask our “Brother from another mother” – Dingari )

Publicity!! Since I always pay attention to the fine details (People otherwise call it elaborative and sometimes boring writing). So getting back to publicity!!!

Day 0 : ( before the actual Publicity began)

I got my share of DYUUDE !!! ..….:) (Media Bros I expect u to complete the sentence) . Last minute preparations were done .Posters, fluxes , promo T-shirts , briefings . Chith Vihar( computer science dept. and the usual media hangout )  was abuzz with activity . Its 3 ‘o clock in the noon and we are all set for MADURAI . !! But why the MIB ?? I’m coming to that ..!!

Day 1: ( The day of great expectations)

As you know .. everyone wants to begin with a bang . I was 10 times more pumped up than a hardcore cricket fanatic in a hi scoring INDIA Pakistan last ball 3 runs to win match …!!I go to the college and PHATT U don’t even know what hit u ..!! Thanx to “PLAN-B”. You know what … there’s always a plan B … and surprisingly ends up being more successful than ur plan ..!!Post publicity in college The MIB duo had awesome fun again .. The duo plunged itself headlong into the Bhakti maargam ..!! Can’t forget the Looooong queue in MEENAKSHI temple .…!!Longer than the most boring math lecture!! That’s like the superlative of superlatives . !!The Colorful atmosphere relieved us a bit ( u know what I mean …!! ). Back tired we plan for day 2 ..!!!

DAY 2: ( Plan B all over):

Day 2 was the perfect example of a Road trip . Except that we were good guys and we had no car ..!! But still the road trip was on ..!! Be it the loud jarring music or the colleges in the middle of nowhere , Madurai had its name written all over it ..!! Crossing over 3 districts to visit a college without any contacts … Might seem like a crazy idea ..!! We like taking risks ..!!

Common ..!!

After all we’re the MEN in BLACKKK !!! .

SO from Madurai to Dindigul , From Dindigul to Palani … and back to Madurai .. Whoa .. Took our toll .. The only thing which kept us alive was our non-stop pondering about VIJAY and his PULI URUMUDHU SHHTYLE stunts … . And not to mention KAVYA’s(Media Matha a.k.a KOTHI)  amusing habit of adding “fying” to everything ( Maarofying , Kelappifying , Veruppaethifying ) Should say one helluva road trip ..!!

Day 3 : ( after all the excitement)

Getting back completely drained to college in a completely cramped bus with a person drunk next to you smelling like a brewery ready to throw up … with all his primal instincts ablaze ..!! whoa .. that was a close one ..!! But its DAKSH ..!! and we are DAKSH fundamentalists ..!!

First year at SASTRA,
Couldn’t have gone less faster,
Months flew by one by one,
Until Jan’08 arrived spreading fun.
Technical fest was introduced,
SASTRA’s DAKSH, with IBM not to be confused,
All the seniors worked hard,
Each with determination played their cards.
I was inspired by one such senior,
Ujwala Joshi, it was easy to notice her,
She made the fest sound fun,
And it was… That year… A ton!
Then came 2009, when i had the chance,
To be a part of Daksh, to join the dance,
Help with organising and everything,
But that year I didn’t really do anything..
Yea.. i know.. i know…
Boring life, boring baatein…

But wait, kahani mein twist

Daksh 2010 is coming along,
And Our team head Lav asked if I wanted to join in
I sprung at the opportunity,
Media and publicity was my dream,
Now that I got it, i wanted to scream..
Boring life became more interesting,
With all the writing work, frustrating,
Desire to give a good write up intensifies,
Each day arises a write up ready to Dakshify.:)

So here I am,A part of the Daksh Kutumb,With Lavanya, Kavya, Sarada, Vamsi, Anirudh, Swaroop and Arjun.

It was the month of July, when I was so totally jobless…Doing nothing more useful than having two hour long sessions in the famous “KRISHNA CANTEEN” along with my chuddy buddies … Chelsea and ManU , Rajini and Kamal , Vijay and Ajith ,  Cricket ..  Well then the other things which cool guys like u n me do …J  . Before going further into the details I d like to take you to flashback mode … well that is politically incorrect, bcos the whole story is a flashback but still… think of a MOSQUITO COIL “FILMY SSHHTYLE”. Flashback inside a flashback …

OLDER FLASHBACK(totally B/W) ……

It was the month of January

And I was so jobless as usual …

I did the same things I told you before …J. I was called by “SRI KUMAR” (allegedly known as the mad scientist) n “LAV” (our media Thala now). That was how I got involved with DAKSH for the first time … (excluding the WORKSHOPS and ORIENTATIONS). I was to go for Publicity in Chennai ….. Well I do not want to mention about the whole trip … too big. I have the habit of elaborating things … which you would‘ve known by now.

So that’s how I became a small part of the “big DAKSH PARIVAR”. Yeah yeah … too much time in the flashback.. Let’s get back to the latter part of the flashback…

NEWER FLASHBACK(70 mm COLOR)…..

It was the month of July again … blah blah .

I get a call from LAV … “It’s about DAKSH!! Like to be a part of the MEDIA TEAM???” whoa …!! I grabbed the chance!! No second thoughts  J .

Was more than happy …. So then I was a part of the media and publicity team of DAKSH. No feeling jobless, no feeling bored after July.  ’09 sped like a Rocket. 5’o clock meets , canteen chit chats , time with the COFFEE MAN(dingari), KOTHI (Kav), SCARFACE(swap), ELF(mallu),THE TALL ONE(shruti) ,SMOOTH CRIMINAL(Saerada) n finally MEDIA thala … Then came my first write up .. Screwed up as usual … Getting better … day by day.. Work began intensifying… Fun intensified as well … Now I‘m all set for DAKSH…  I’m one in the PARIVAR… This is one DAKSH that is going to be “AWWEESOMEE” like Barney Stinson says in HIMYM …
